Shirley Baros, GIS Program Manager, is a Certified GIS Professional (GISP) and has been using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology since 1987 and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology since 1992. As program manager her experience includes managing large multitasks and multidisciplinary contract and grants. She provides project management, training, and technical support for many diverse GIS/GPS activities. Ms. Baros is proficient in the use of Environmental System Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI) software products. Her project experience includes integration of remote sensing, GIS, GPS, and relational database management system (RDBMS) technologies as they are applied to health care, planning, natural and cultural resources, and environmental issues that are technically challenging in our ever-changing world. Ms. Baros came to EDAC in 1990 from the City of Albuquerque Geographic Information System (AGIS). A graduate of the University of New Mexico, Ms. Baros has taught numerous workshops locally and at international conferences, and GIS courses in the Department of Geography.
